From a FEMA presentation, but you might find these useful for a home fire rescue:

Vice Grips - hold the garage door open, close off a broken valve, clamb on a door to keep it from closing, grab a hot pot from the stove.

Lineman Pliers/Wire Cutters - Cut thru wires or a chain link fence

Door wedge - keep a door open

Strap with Hook - hold open a door

Knife with serrated blade - cut rope

Knife with razor blade - cut thru drywall to gain access to a room that has the door blocked or locked.

Medic Scissors - cuts most anything

Screwdriver, multipurpose with exchangeable tips - flat head and phillips heads.

Rescue strap - lower yourself or a child out of a window

Caribineer and safe rope - like a rescue strap

Tubular webbing, 1" - to climb down from a higher elevation

Secondary flashlight - may need to leave one to guide searchers that are following you.

Small flashlight or glow stick - attach to house keys, homeowner can throw to first responders so they can come in thru the door.
